Saint-Jean Cathedral in Lyon

A Gothic beauty in the heart of the historic centre.
Built mostly between the 12th and 15th centuries, the Saint-Jean cathedral in Lyon is one of the oldest and most beautiful monuments in the region. This towering edifice is world-renowned for the 320 sculpted medallions across its Gothic facade representing episodes from Genesis and other biblical and mythological scenes.
Within you can admire a beautiful and unusual astronomic clock, a stunning feat of wrought-iron workmanship that dates back to the 16th century.
